Duel Masters and Destroy all humans
[edit]It would be good to mention "Duel Masters" (until 2002) and "Destroy All Humans. They Can't Be Regenerated" manga and anime. which are based on MTG.Not sure where to put it in the article. 185.18.60.54 (talk) 11:34, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

There is uncited text throughout the article, including entire sections and paragraphs. At over 11,000 words, this article is considered WP:TOOBIG and is probably too detailed in some areas. Some sections are quite large, affecting readability especially for mobile users. If there is still a lot of text in some of these sections after the prose is reduced, I recommend that it be broken up with headings. Z1720 (talk) 16:16, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
Catholic cardinals as Magic cards
[edit]@Kencf0618: MOS:POPCULT states "Cultural references about the article's subject should not be included merely because they exist. Cultural aspects of the subject should be included only if they are supported by reliable secondary or tertiary sources that discuss the subject's cultural impact in some depth. The mere appearance of the subject in a film, song, video game, television show, or the like is insufficient.". Even if they say they got it from an outlet, someone on Bluesky posting essentially a meme (Catholic cardinals as Magic cards) is not a reliable source nor does it meet the MOS standard of discussing the impact of the meme. The meme existing is not enough to include it. Sariel Xilo (talk) 16:23, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- It's not a meme. It's not even a cultural reference. It is a presentation in an unusual format of papabili analysis by none other than Edward Pentin, Rome correspondent for the National Catholic Register, who wrote The Next Pope: The Leading Cardinal Candidates, published in August 2020, and numerous other journalists, academics, et al., on The Cardinal Report, a website heavily cited. The information is presented in the guise of an much beloved pop culture artifact. Repackaged, one might say. Furthermore, it was created with Artificer by Jeff Nascimento (@jnascim.info); it stands in its own right as an derivative work à la AD&D's Character Alignment Chart being used for purposes beyond gaming. kencf0618 (talk) 21:57, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- That correspondent & outlet might be relevant to the 2025 papal conclave article but that doesn't explain why it is relevant to this article. You're also not citing either Edward Pentin or the Cardinal Report directly; you're citing someone on bsky who claims they have taken another party's (probably copyrighted) prose & reformatted it as Magic cards. If there were secondary sources talking about this, you might have an argument but simply the existence of this thing on social media does not mean it is notable enough to include. Sariel Xilo (talk) 22:17, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- Created using Artificer, so it's kosher. It's relevant to the article because of its use of the format. That said, we await secondary sources. Ta! kencf0618 (talk) 16:02, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
